Tile shade and calibre: a box-label checklist before installation

A tile can look right in a photograph and still need a closer check when the boxes arrive. Keep this checklist with your order, especially when buying in stages for an apartment, bathroom or building project in Batumi.

Production batches can vary. Compare the shade and calibre markings on the boxes; the exact coding depends on the manufacturer. See the Marazzi explanation of shade and calibre.

Before confirming your order

1. Describe the whole space. Tell the sales team which rooms connect, the approximate area and whether purchasing will happen in stages.
2. Write down the full selection. Keep the manufacturer, collection, product code, finish and nominal size together. A colour name alone is not a useful order reference.
3. Ask about the intended batch. Request confirmation of the available shade and calibre, and discuss any later top-up order before committing.

When your delivery arrives

4. Photograph the labels. Keep readable pictures from the delivered boxes beside your order reference. Check the product, shade and calibre across the delivery.
5. Flag differences before installation. If a label differs or is missing, keep the affected boxes identifiable and contact the supplier. Ask the installer to review compatibility before mixing them.
6. Keep the reference for later. Save the confirmed labels, receipt and installer’s agreed layout with your project documents.

Buying again later?

Send the original label details with the new enquiry. Do not assume a later delivery will match because the collection name is the same. If the original batch is unavailable, agree a solution with the supplier and installer first.
